Hi, (re: Viola) I recently was away from my hometown and needed to use a Monsey mikva and based on the thread here I was a bit worried. I found a way to make the mikva appointment online but before I confirmed, I called the number for Mikva of Rockland County on Viola and told the lady that I'm new to this mikva so I wanted to know if there is any room that is better/cleaner/nicer etc. She was honest that none of the rooms are super up to date but it's clean. I asked how can I get a larger room and she said the jacuzzi rooms are first come first serve. You write in the notes that you want a jacuzzi room (when you book online). I decided to take the first appointment so it's more likely to be clean. It was nice that I was able to book a number of days before, not just 2-3 days like some other places.

The lady behind the desk was very nice. I had to pay extra for the room but it was very worth it. When you go to a mikva in a different city, and you are the sensitive type (who isn't lol? but just saying) I think it's not a bad splurge to be more relaxed on mikva night if you can afford it. I'm sure the other rooms are fine , especially if you go first thing when they open. The jacuzzi room was amazing, I was able to spread out my stuff and the supplies were really nice and organized and enough and everything worked. The mikva lady asked me if I wanted to get checked. And she was very sensitive in general, I found. The lobby and the hallways are nice and spacious. The mikva water was very clean.

I had to steel myself with courage either way, cuz mikvas are hard for me to begin with, and especially out of (my) town it all worked out. I figured I'd share my experience. Thanks!

There actually is a beautiful new mikvah in Monsey. Front entrance on ternure Ave (sorry don't have exact address)
There's a shortcut on west Central Ave directly to back of the mik
For shabbos and kallahs

I'm so happy you had a nice experience! I've been going there for years, love that I can book appt times to avoid wait, and while it's not new anymore, it's always clean. Mikvah attendants always ask if you want to be checked, and will check nails only if you want that.

You don’t have to book as far as I know. There might be a wait but maple leaf mikvah was totally fine with me walking in a few months ago on motzei shabbos.

Maple Leaf is HORRIBLE!!!!
The mikva ladies are rude and rooms are dirty.
I would say to go to Skver Mikva its stunning, squeky clean, and especialy has nice mikva ladies.

Wow I’m so sorry you’ve had that experience there.
I wonder if we’re talking about the same maple leaf mikvah tho …🤪 or when was the last time you’ve been there? They recently renovated and I haven’t had the issues you’ve described. For those local to maple leaf it’s a great option, in my opinion.
