I don’t get why posters are asking about (other) women wearing bikinis/ shorts etc in beach areas, hotel lobbies etc.
do you think the whole world dresses according to orthodox standards? If you’re so worried about your husband / son, maybe a beach vacation isn’t the place for you.

You’re exactly right. I find those questions sort of hysterical.

Posters are constantly asking about certain beaches, hotels or other places to see how other women are dressed. It puzzles me to no end

If there happens to be an area/water related activity that is appropriate for someone very careful about these things, should they not be able to enjoy? Or they're banned from all water related activities and they shouldn't even ask?

Asking if a beach or hotel pool is appropriate is different than asking if a specific boating area is empty or full of ppl etc. There is definitely a difference and there are some places you are more likely to come across inappropriately dressed people than others

They are asking if this area/beach is an exception. They don't expect people to dress tznius they are hoping or wondering if there are places that people tend to be more dressed.
We don't do beach vacations ever. Even amusement parks are quite untznius.

Unless there is seperate swimming how would a beach vacation or a swimming poil be appropriate?

Which part is hysterical? That people hope to gain insight from someone that was there? There are places that are less pritzus than others but not everyone knows of every place. They post here and hope someone here knows more then they do, end of story. Nothing hysterical here.

Well that’s what they are trying to find out.
I don’t get the point of this thread.

The point is that you cannot expect non religious or non Jewish women to dress according to our standards just because you and your husband are there; and if someone on this forum posted that so and so area had no bikini clad women the day she went, it’s not a given that it’s always like that.

I wonder the same...why ask if a beach in the summer is tznius...what do you expect...people to be in modest clothing while they are swimming at the beach?

Idk, I've never done a vacation on the beach with my husband for this reason so I'm ignoramus, but maybe there are beaches primarily populated by frum Jews this time of year and would be more tznius?
Anyhoo, why do you care so much? Let everyone ask whatever they please.

If someone were to ask: "is Lake Welch tznius when there are no lifeguards?" I could reply, "Yes, even though it's a beach, when there are no lifeguards, you can probably find a quiet spot where you won't see pritzus. In fact, you may be surrounded by frum people."
I'm sure there are other places like that.

I find your post mocking of frum people and no reason to do it.
I am baal teshuvah. Where I grew up, there were beaches for people that don't dress at all. No clothes. Men women together. It was called "a nudist beach". (Not sure if makes sense in English). I went there, being 17-19 y old. No,I'm not sheltered and probably saw in life waaaay more pritzus than you. Still,I think these questions are legit for frum population. In Israel there r separate beaches, here none. But why not try to enjoy ocean? For me water is essential part of summer , and yes,I'm worried about my pure sheltered son, who, unlike me, has no clue. I don't think you can decide for other people if beach is for them or no, don't they try to live enjoyable life in the frame of halacha?it's meant for living,no? It's only hysterical question for someone who mocks the frum values.

Thank you.

To OP, if asked, I can tell you that DH enjoys the Boardwalk in Miami at night. It's a normal question.
