This is the first year a camp told me an amount to tip
Is this the new norm? Does everyone really give? I wasn’t expecting this

We spoke about this last week
my view is that the tip amounts are just recommendations but you should give something as a token of appreciation, however small it may be. A nice letter and a chocolate bar can suffice.

Im curious which camp
Because I've been sending boys to Lakewood boys camps for many years and I've never been asked to tip.
But also, I've asked, and it seems like the camps I send to pay their jcs and counselors significantly more than the girls camps for way fewer hours. (Where my daughter was getting paid $400 for 4 weeks from 10-4, the boys were getting paid $700 for 4 weeks from 12:45-4).

Both of my boys day camps, sent out messages regarding Tipping.
I have boys in chaveirim and kevutza.

Which boys camp pays so much? DS looked into a JC job at three different camps and all offered $175-250.
