To preface- I have about 10 years work experience.
have a young family, 2 children in school, 2 in morah... and baby
job 1- 30 hours a week, plus 1 hour daily commute, more corporate 70k
job 2- 20 hours a week, fully remote, flex 40k
which job would you choose??

Job 2 for sure! Especially with little kids at home—remote options are so helpful.

What would your additional expenses be with longer commute more babysitting more household help etc.
How much do you need the extra $$?

You haven't said what your husband's income is. Of course I'd choose job 2, but if you're literally relying on your income for basics, then I guess job 1 is your only choice.

which job would you choose?? | I dont have kids and have 1.5 hr commute. Do not do it. Waste of time, waste of life, stressful, makes u hate your job, makes you resentful when coming home. If you can financially handle it do job 2. If you can’t then I’d keep looking

Either take job 2 or keep looking. Don’t do the commute! Cuz that 30 hours a week for 30k extra just became 40 hours a week with the commute… plus traffic??

So funny. I was working from home fully flexible and made around 30k a year. This year I’m jumping in and doing hybrid with a 40 min commute 3 times a week and working the rest from home. Making 70k. But in my kids are I school anyway so I’m looking forward.
