Are so so expensive. My kids don’t like Greek and I like to buy whole milk and I haven’t found any big tubs so I have to buy the small ones and it adds up so so fast. I am not complaining and I am grateful that Hashem gave me so many chalav Yisroel options but looking for more ideas.

No great ideas except stop buying them for a week and see if you manage. Like creamcheese sandwiches are much cheaper or scrambled eggs. They aren't even too filling like a snack.... I still spend on them, but I know people go through different phases....

Thanks. Unfortunatley we can't. We use 4 little tubs daily for smoothies plus I have two kids who rely on it daily. (I am feeling the pinch because we recently switched over from chalav stam and there wer whole milk yougurt tubs available. Not looking for naysayers, just sharing why I'm finding it difficult). why does not chalav yisroel company make non greek whole milk big tubs? Is it worth calling a company and asking for?

Can you make your own yogurt?

May be worth buying a yogurt maker and making your own.

Do yourself a favor and get an automatic one where you don't need to manually boil the milk first. Mine is too old for me to recommend (no longer available), but it takes me literally under 10 min to put up my yogurt

FYI they arent especially healthy with all the added sugar.... If it's something you use a lot of, you might want to reduce. Also, if in smoothie, they might not taste the Greek ones

Thank you. I really wasn’t asking for health advice though. And yes they taste the difference

I buy greek plain and add maple syrup. If it's going into smoothie they really shouldn't taste it. But I do wish they had big whole milk. Totally call a company and also second making your own.

Smoothies can be made with red milk instead of yogurt. It may not even need sugar depending on your taste, because it doesn’t have the sourness from the yogurt.

Which whole milk yogurts do you buy that aren't Greek?

I make yogurt. I find the taste of homemade yogurt is way better. We sweeten it with maple syrup or honey. It's delicious.

Ok but we have a specific recipe that we like with yogurt and my kids eat it everyday for breakfast. Not looking to take out yogurt

My kids specifically like strawberry and vanilla. They don’t like the maple taste nor do they like the Greek taste (I’ve tried to mix it).
I’m gonna call j and j see if they would consider making big tubs

You can add vanilla extract or strawberry jelly for flavoring. Or fresh strawberries.
There are lots of ways to make it. In a yogurt cooker, in an instant pot, in a slow cooker. Other people might know other methods but it depends on what tools you have available. You can buy cy yogurt starter or use some store bought yogurt as starter.
