I ordered a used DVD from a seller. In his description, he wrote:

I am Tired of Getting Beat up by USPS, if you choose to buy 1 single disc, and it hasn’t arrived:

DO NOT OPEN A REQUEST, ITS NOT FAIR THAT YOU RECEIVE AN AUTOMATIC REFUND, THEN STILL GET MY PRODUCT!!

YOU WILL NEED TO BE PATIENT – I DO NOT CONTROL THE POSTOFFICE

I ordered it almost 3 weeks ago and it has not arrived. It was not sent with tracking.

I messaged the seller about a week ago very politely asking him what to do since it had been almost 2 weeks. His response:

Only thing I can tell you is have patience, I’ve spoken to the po and corrected the envelopes to be non machinable costing me more but shipping time should not be 2 weeks.

Question: What to do next? Keep waiting? Message him asking for a refund? Asking ebay for a refund? I feel bad because he was very clear in his description that shipping could take time.

I am an eBay seller. Why does he not provide tracking. I provide tracking with every package and even get people telling me that they didn’t get it. Even after it says delivered. It’s on the seller. He should give you a refund. I have asked people in the past to wait a few days and then they did get it. But 2 weeks is much.

Do I contact him directly or just request from ebay?

As a seller. I prefer customers contact me first. But if he doesn’t respond or doesn’t give a straight answer, then ask for a refund thru eBay. Till him that two weeks is enough time, and could he please give you tracking or a refund.
I had it one time that a package got lost in the mail. I issued a refund and the customer received it three weeks after it was shipped. So I was out the money.
But as a general rule. Always give the seller a chance first. Before reaching out to eBay.

Thank you, I will. And it's been 3 weeks now.
