Yes Hashem is in charge. But that didn't mean you shouldn't take accurate market info into account. I'm telling you as someone who works in the industry and sees the wholesale price, my sales guy said it's going up. You can't rely on a miracle to bring it down suddenly.
The birds are sick. We are shipping from the East Coast to the West Coast. Until the birds get better there will be a crisis.

I'm not sure what an anti semite nazi sympathizer town in South America has to do with buying eggs from German owned Aldi. |
But lots of Germans and people in general are still nazi sympathizers. I was in Germany last year and kids were literally playing “hitler” in the street, pretending they were nazis.
Im not one to talk, I drive a German car. But I always find it funny when people see my car and say they’d never- like how many Jews use a Bosch to make their challah every week?

Exactly. Or use IBM computer. Or use medicine made by Bayer, Merck, or Novartis. Anyone eat a wasa cracker today? How about Haribo gummies? Nutella? Tic-tac? I can go on and on…

I checked online out of curiosity and the price now at the kosher supermarket for a dozen is $3.99-$5.89, depending on the brand, and I honestly don't understand why anyone would buy eggs there unless it is paid for by WIC or they really can't go to another store. It is generally a very well-priced store for almost everything, but not eggs. It is so worth it to go to Walmart or Aldi once a month to stock up. |
Do you keep them in the fridge? I buy 18 eggs a week in my regular shopping because I don’t really have place to store more.

AFAIK kids around the world don't play in the streets. They are busy with their phone.

2 containers of 18 stack up beautifully and don't take up more horizontal space. I find vertical space I have more of...

I find in most places, young children spend lots of times outdoors not on their phones. Feel free to fly to Germany for a few days and do some research.

Maybe you crossed paths with some weirdos but as a country in general, Germany is one of the less anti Semitic places these days.

Not in the town I stayed in, people were very much not fans of Jews
And I disagree, I think it’s a lot of trying to make up for the past because it looks good now, but deep down people feel the same way

I buy a few boxes (we use alot) and it's delivered to my door.
Today it was 10 bux for 5 dozen
That's 2 bux a dozen eggs.
And I didn't need to go to the store. But I'm sure they are the same price in store. |
I checked my walmart on Friday for the case of eggs, it was 16.83 for 5 dozen!
I got from target which had the cheapest I knew of in my area

Only on Imamother will a thread about the price of eggs turn into an argument over the degree of antisemitism in Germany today

In the US because they are washed before going to sale they have to be kept in the fridge.
There is now a moment to stop washing eggs and sell them on the store shelf like flour just like they do in other countries.

Yes. And I have the luxury of having a second fridge. So no issues here.
Also we use them pretty fast.
And other poster who said the eggs were 16$ - sounds odd that they are so inflated where you live.
Today I just checked and they are 12$ also still a good deal.
Costco has for 13 and change.

Thank you for this post op!
I special made a walmart order on Friday to order eggs.
Should have stocked up more- but don’t have where to keep them. My fridge keeps on freezing items and the eggs crack…
In any case- I’m glad for every egg I bought- the price increased from yesterday! I think it matched the kosher supermarkets now…

Where I live, it's $18 for 5 dozen at Walmart. A little cheaper at costco
But I'm not stocking up, I'll just use very few eggs.
