We're already paying $5/dozen. It's going up again or my store went up early?

FYI not all Aldi stores have the same price. I bought this morning in my Aldi and it was 3.79. In ShopRite next door they had 2.99 on sale.

I think you should only not shop in Aldi if you don’t buy from any other German company, from Daimler Chrysler to adidas to bmw. Here’s a list of 100 German companies: https://powrbot.com/companies/.....many/
Plus remember that some American cars are made in Germany, https://www.quora.com/What-Ame.....2020. Tesla has a plant in Germany so be careful.
It’s very hard to avoid all German made products.

I heard that the color tags on bread can tell you what day of the week they were baked, so you can figure out which one is freshest. Is this still true? If so, what's the secret key?

It went up this week from last week and it's going up even more next week

I just checked the history. We get once a week ... It's been going up each week since July 17

I happen to try not to shop those. I don’t avoid everything. Especially if hard to buy comparable. companies with bad history I really try to avoid. Obviously it’s impossible to avoid everything I grew up driving a German car was the worst infraction.

But I guess see Aldi as a store that you can buy whatever is there anywhere.
Everyone has to pick what works for them.

I guess it’s also generational. Like if Hamas started businesses how long would you wait before proving their kids direct money.

I always go through my grocery receipts and notes it but now seeing that it will go up even more makes me want to purchase a load of eggs on Sunday and do all my yt baking before those eggs carry their weight in gold. Dh says not to tho and I wonder if he’s right.

Trader Joe's may be founded by Germans but they are one of the only mainstream stores (maybe The only) that I know of proudly selling Israeli products. Maybe other stores sell Israeli but hide it, but Trader Joe's has (or had. I don't live near one anymore but as of last time I was there) visibly identifiably Israeli cheese things front and center.

I'm more worried about American antisemites than German ones these days.

Anyway, I didn't love shop rite's egg prices recently so I held out and bought at Walmart. Milk is also much less at Walmart than shop rite, for those who are ok with store brand (I think both are Star D or one is star D and one is ou+d, but neither are cholov yisrael)

Edited to clarify the hechsher on the Walmart milk as of last time I looked is star D.

Anything under star k is chalav yisroel. It could be under star d, which certifies chalavas stam. But couldn't be star k.

Ok I thought the star inside a D was star k for dairy. My mistake. It's Star D.

Trader Joe's may be founded by Germans

It was not it was founded by a man in California named Joe. He felt the best way to compete with 7-11 was to go sideways and offer stuff they don't.
He sold to Aldis a few decades ago.

I buy a box of 60 eggs from Walmart via instacart.
I buy a few boxes (we use alot) and it's delivered to my door.
Today it was 10 bux for 5 dozen
That's 2 bux a dozen eggs.
And I didn't need to go to the store. But I'm sure they are the same price in store.

Ok whatever, my point is that even if it's owned by Germans it's the only place I know that marketed Israeli products at an unpopular time and I appreciate that.
