Has anyone ever heard that it’s assur to roll dice on Shabbos? I don’t know where I remember hearing this and what the reason is. Can anyone clarify?

I've never heard that rolling dice for a board game (eg to play snakes and ladders) is an issue.
However maybe for a sort of gambling game it's not allowed as gambling is like buying/selling which is ossur.
