8 year old ds takes forever to wipe. Like it takes him longer to wipe than to actually go. He is wiping properly, he is clean and all. It just takes a long time and he is annoyed by how long it takes. He doesn't have the best motor skills, so this is probably a factor. Still, anything else we can do to help him be more efficient? He is, of course, alone in the bathroom and has been for years already, so any help would just be telling him "try x" and hoping he figures it out.

At home, you can get him a bidet.
Are you sure it's not caused by digestive issues?

Use baby wipes rather than tissues. Dab a little vaseline onto the toilet paper to make it smoother

I have the same thing with my 9 year old son. Plus he wastes a half a pack of wipes. I don't tell him anything and I'm glad he's clean. He'll outgrow it.

Definitely not. He doesn't struggle to go, and I've asked him if they seem loose or hard and he said neither, it's just normal.

I'd be nervous that he'd forget that wipes can't go in the toilet. The Vaseline seems like something to try.

I don't say anything, HE is the one who's annoyed by it. He doesn't like taking so long.

If it’s leaving him so dirty it is digestive. I’d either go to a GI or start eliminating possible problem foods and see what makes it better.

It's not that he's dirty. He's just only cleaning a little with each swipe. He's not cleaning so efficiently.

I get flushable wipes. I still tell my kids to throw them in the garbage, but figure it's better this way if they forget

But that’s pretty dirty. Should be max 3.
