I’m a photographer and I try to take my kids photos once a year. Babies up to 2-3 I try to do a bit more than that.
If I wouldn’t be a photographer I wouldn’t be able to afford professional pictures more than every few years.

I try for once a year. I don't do expensive. JCPenney or someone new starting out. Never more than 100 dollars.

Yes JCPenney does it. With Groupon it's about 30 dollars. I've done it 6 times. Twice I used new people. Spent 80 on one and 50 on the other.

I did it at one year for my kids and except for one they didn't come out good so I did it myself for my 4th. I find my kids do best when I photograph them. Unless my mother is doing it. But anyone they don't know doesn't work well. I only know one person who does it yearly and she doesn't take pictures herself in general because she has a flip phone.
