What would you do if there was a bug infestation at your vacation rental? They knew about it before we came and still allowed the booking. What compensation would you look for?

I think the infestation matters.
Like ants are part of life and hard to get rid of. I’d say no money off. Even if they k ew about it.
Roaches all over is disgusting so money off. Even if they didn’t know about it.
And then there is a middle ground.
Also matters if bungalo in the country or luxury home in Toms River.

We once went to an Airbnb that was infested with stink bugs. There was like a million of them. So I had to Google the picture to find out what kind of bug it was. I'd never even thought of getting any reimbursement. Just made sure that none came home with me.

If the infestation is to a degree where it could have an impact on your health or feeling comfortable staying there, I'd request a full refund and re-book at an alternate accommodation.
If you stayed at the accommodation for the extent of your booking despite the infestation, I don't think you'd be entitled to any compensation.
