The leg of my standing fan broke while moving and I'm not sure what to replace it with.
My bedroom is large and the window isn't well suited for an air conditioner. It gets very stuffy without a fan.
At work I have a tower fan and I love how quiet it is and it does an amazing job cooling. Not sure how it's so effective, really. So that made me think maybe I should get one instead of the standing fan I had before.
But even though it's on the tall side for a tower fan, it is still low to the ground. Can it really circulate air in a big bedroom? I always kept my standing fan tilted upward to circulate as much as possible. Close to the floor I assume the furniture would get in the way of air flow, and would it make the air dustier by blowing around the floor? And how does it cool the room if cold air sinks and warm rises?
My office is smaller and doesn't have so much furniture so even though I love the tower fan there I'm not sure how it would translate into a bedroom.

We have a ceiling fan above the bed, and it's perfect.

Installing a ceiling fan is a whole project though. The question was which thing I can buy for $30-50 and turn on immediately.
