My son is 2+4 months . Took him for his first dentist appt and dentist pointed out how off his bite is. He’s my forth kid but first was a paci.
I’m taking it away tonight cuz he’s out of camp and therefore I decided to give up his nap so he’s more tired at night and will have an easier time sleeping. (New morah in Sep who’s not doing nap nap) Hes in a bath now with epsom salt infused with melotonin (I know weird, my husband bought it once a while back) I plan to massage him with cream. After that.. any other tips??

I had a frank discussion with DS when he turned 2. I said "tonight you're going to sleep with..." and I named all his stuffed animals plus his special blanket "but no paci". I said it a few times and he said it along with me.
And so it was. No drama. No more paci.

I bought a book called goodbye pack and really really talked up what was gonna happen for a week or 2. It was still rough and no one slept for a few days. But you get through it
Did this twice btw

Unpopular opinion: I'm not taking away the one thing that soothes/unwinds my 2 yr old. He can only have it in his crib once he turned two but it will be punishing me and my child if I take it away

We pack them up and say I'm going to drop them at a baby who needs it.
Then throw them outside in the trash where they can't be retrieved.
Big boy present is given (scooter works here)
be ready to hug and hold tonight.
It takes literally 2 or 3 nights
When he asks for it remind him they aren't here any more. And he now has a new scooter (or whatever)
I wouldn't elaborate much, he's probably too young for that

We’re you using large size pacifier?
I always stick with the newborn size and it doesn’t affect their bite.
I don’t get rid of pacifiers so early and none of my kids have any effects from it.

Frida has a pacifier weaning system you can buy, each one gets smaller and smaller until they’re weaned off
