I shaved half my head and I looooooove it. I did a full undercut. I still have a ponytail, but my neck is free and airy.

You might regret it come the cold weather.

I have extremely thick hair and it is SO uncomfortable! I try thinning it but it’s still annoying. I would need it to be long enough for a ponytail. Does an undercut work for thinning?

I wish I could do it!!! I have cut my hair very short like pixie but it's very curly and frizzy so didn't last long.
Wish dh would let. My hair is hard to maintain.
So people that shave and aren't chassidish, you only wear a sheitel for dh and he is fine?
Also the sheitel net/ cap doesn't itch?

Also if I do it, how is my sheitel staying on my head? At least until I adjust the cap size...

I am so confused. How is hair itchy??? I can’t imagine wanting to be bald or half shaved.

Our minhag is to shave a few days before Mikva. I usually trim the front every 2 weeks with a bikini trimmer because otherwise I get bangs peeking thru my wig, but that’s only because my hair grows at 60 mph.

When I don’t have cycles, I shave whenever my hair gets uncomfortable. I think the longest I’ve gone without a full shave was 8 weeks, but I trimmed the front a few times.

My DH only sees my head covered, except for the few times we shower together. He then jokes that I’m the most beautiful man ever 😂.

I keep it covered in bed for halachik/hashkafik reasons, not because it’s a turn off. I actually think I look very haute couture bald. With makeup on…

I'm Yeshivish, so it's not our minhag, but I've shaved a number of times. DH doesn't really like it, so we compromise on very, very short.

Definitely love it. Easier, cooler, and my shaitel doesn't need washing as often.

I did it!!!!! And I feel like a different person! So so comfortable! Not sweating or itchiness all shabbos! Bh
Let's see how it will work out in the long run.

Yay! So glad you love it! It’s hard taking the plunge but it makes such a difference, especially in this weather

I suggest shaving every few weeks because when it starts growing in your scalp gets itchy

I use a regular haircut clipper, with a 1 or 2 cover (usually 1)

DH usually does it for me so that it’s even

DH has no issue seeing me so I sleep with my hair out, he doesn’t mind the look and thinks it’s cute actually

I'd say go for it. You can grow it back out if you want.

I shave ( chassidish) my husband likes when I grow it out a bit ( pixie style) but every once in a while I shave completely & what a relief!! Nothing like it.

I kept my hair extremely short for years. I just used a scissors but it was shorter than a pixie. My hair is thick and curly so this made a huge difference! I did ask dh first. Not having a wet head for 24 hours after a shower was great! Eventually I grew it out. Now shoulder length-long enough for a ponytail.

I don’t understand how bald plus a wig is cooler on a hot day than hair plus a tichel🤷‍♀️
