I’m nursing a 7 month old. I made it until 7 pm then I felt nauseous and lightheaded. I spent a lot of the day in bed and also drank electrolytes before and took extended release caffeine, which I think all helped me last as long as I did.

If you know now that you had a terrible fast, then please start thinking about how you can make your Yom Kippur fasting easier, including putting in an IV line. Taking supplements, introducing food to your baby etc….
Yom Kippur is a really serious fast, and having to take care of little kids isn’t an excuse. If need be your husband should stay home all Yom Kippur and take care of you and your family while you lie in bed!

When I spoke to my Rav about it he said pregnant and nursing women are not exempt from these fasts so I should fast until I feel so bad that I literally can’t stand anymore.
So my question is this, am I uncommonly weak?
Are most women able to handle fasting while pregnant and/or nursing? |
Just answering your question….I’m halfway through a pregnancy and had no problem fasting. Didn’t prepare for it in any way, wasn’t particularly hungry when it was over, but my mouth was dry.
