Sorry for posting in the Pesach thread and scaring everyone!
Don't worry, this is about last pesach!
I don't know what to do with my pesach sponges.
During the year, I put sponges in the dishwasher to get them clean. But on pesach I can't.
Should I throw out sponges I used?
How can I sanitize them?

For 8 days we manage with cleaning the sponges by hand. After 8 days we use them in the chometz sink and dishwasher. (We throw out the chometz ones before pesach.)

I throw out my chometz ones before pesach, then keep my Pesach ones for after Pesach until they need replacing (different rates for fleishig and milchig based on hand washing rates).

I know it's convenient to save sponges so you don't have to remember to buy next year, but, really...buy sponges on sale midyear, put them away in your chometz closet or bin, and make your Pesach sponges chometzdik. Though tbh, I don't see what's so hard about washing a sponge by hand and letting it air dry. Clip it on a hanger with a clothespin if it comes to that.
ETA if you feel the need to sanitize on Pesach, just soak them in a little diluted bleach.

Who saves used sponges?
Just start using them for chometz.
Where have they been until now?

You can use them right after for the next week until it’s time to toss.

You put sponges in the dishwasher? Like those small dishwashing sponges? Or are you referring to something else
