Do you mean the shape of the diamonds? Is ‘regular’ round?

You know what? I'm not even sure. Round or square. Jeweler just told me standard. I didn't know to ask what is standard.

Standard is round.

I've seen oval, it's beautiful, a bit Hungarian maybe? It's a matter of taste.

You have an idea about price wise? If it's more expensive?

I just did oval. Love it. It’s so unique. Everyone I know has the square one. It’s a bit more pricey but I got a fantastic deal.

Carat for carat probably, might look larger with less carats. You would probably need to try on and compare.
Do you have a jeweler you would use (and therefore are buying from them anyway so you are not using their time)
Tell them your price point and see what they can show you.

I'm dealing with a jeweler. I originally said I want standard. But then I saw a picture of oval and was thinking that I might like it better. So I wanted to hear. We started before the 9 days. We're finalizing hopefully this week sometime.

Are we all just used to round so oval more unique but soon oval will be standard?

Seems like oval is more expensive. I did some googling. Round is a typical shape. Anything not typical is more expensive.

I had to Google what you're talking about. I like the oval the most. Next after that is princess cut. I believe princess cut is the most expensive. Pear I really don't like.

Not sure if this matters but I regret my oval because there are 2 points /prongs on either side that create the oval shape that are super sharp and painful when taking care of babies. Scratched my babies too many times Sad
Wish I would have gotten round just for that..
Edited to add I see on google there are some ovals that dont have those pointy prongs...just keep it in mind.

I love oval. I wanted oval for my engagement ring but my beautiful pear was chosen for me Smile
I’ll probably go with oval when I get mine, it’s so elegant

Wow I am sorry to hear you had this experience. I have a oval eternity and my prongs are super comfortable I love my oval ring. Please go back to your jeweler and tell them to fix the ring setting because it’s defective.
