He figured it out and now he keeps opening and closing. If anyone has any ideas of how to keep it closed while driving please post. I looked on Amazon and didn’t see anything specifically for this but maybe I didn’t search right.

You can’t add anything to it safety wise. You can do the shirt buttoned over it trick. https://thecarseatlady.com/houdini-2/

I had same thing with my DS who’s younger than yours. Just got this strap on Amazon and so far he hasn’t Been able to open it… Hope it works for you too!
Good luck!

Don’t use this. The straps won’t work correctly when you need them to in a crash. All car seats say don’t add after market products.

My son does the same. He also managed to get his arms out even with the strap closed and it very tight. He pushes it down and wiggles out. Any advice lmk!

I hear what you’re saying, I still think it’s better than having my DS in an open car seat with him leaning half out and wiggling his way out… there’s only so many times I can pull over and rebuckle him.

Maybe masking tape over the release button? Just becomes a pain to do it each time you're in and out.

I had this too and had to get a new car seat with more difficult buckles. I don't remember which brand I switched to, but I did research and bh it worked.

I would stop the car every time and redo it.
