Yep, she's a relative of mine. It was a very personal read for me and my family.

The unfinished Diary is very gripping. It describes in great details the horror of being on the run and in hiding. The most sad and tragic part is that the diary cuts off in the middle as the author was found and shot. A young father, talmid chacham and a brilliant writer 😢.

For many years I (re-)read this on tisha bav:
https://www.amazon.com/Lodz-Gh.....ss_tl
One of the most powerful and thought provoking books I’ve ever read.

Also recently read two books on the oyneg shabbos group in Warsaw:
https://www.amazon.com/Who-Wil.....ss_tl
https://www.amazon.com/Voices-.....ss_tl

The first is more dense and academic, the second is just direct excerpts from diaries etc

Gutta: Memories of a Vanished World
It’s very honest, but also has a mix of very happy memories from before and isn’t too heavy. Might be good for teens, although it does mention suicide attempt.

Yael Mermelstein's I Promise You is very different and extremely gripping. It's written in verse form and is very well done.
