so about a year ago we had cockroaches in our kitchen (we live in Lakewood if that in any way is helpful.) I would only see them come out in the middle of the night, only on the floors or countertops, if I came to get a drink of water or something (never in cabinets) we bh did a pretty deep clean, bought our own bug spray and sprayed, and bought specific gel that is supposed to repel them. we also got the ultrasonic plug ins (bell and howell brand) and bh havent seen one in a year so I know we got rid of them. I wasnt sure which one did the trick but I was just so grateful.
its very hard for me to consistently clean all dishes in sinks, we pretty much always have dirty dishes in the sink but im constantly cleaning floors where baby dropped food, and anything necessary etc.
today I opened a cabinet, one with. random dishes no food or spices, and saw a massive one. bh just one but im really upset and freaking out. anyone have any advice? does it 100% mean there are more? please only positive/. proactive advice. I know that they are gross, I dont want to be made more upset about it.
Would definitely appreciate advice though!

but last time I only sprayed areas that I wouldn't have to fully clean out, like under fridge under oven and easy access areas. now that I saw the=m in the cabinet im not sure that what I did last time would do the trick. I just cant see myself taking everything out of all cabinets to spray them..
thank you for the reply!

Buy those Roach bait discs. And keep them in the cabinets. They work!

Buy roach gel. Alpine or similar. Put a small dot on all cabinet hinges. They like dark places and lay eggs there . Put dots in all hideout spots. Spread boric acid powder under appliances and behind.
Good luck!
If it's recurring even with this, call exterminator to find gaps to close.

Repellents just push them elsewhere. I highly recommend getting an exterminator.

Exterminate with windex. Keep spraying windex all around your house until they are all dead and gone.

How massive was it? Because the tiny ones and the huge ones are different species. The tiny ones are much worse - the larger species, while disgusting, is usually a much less serious infestation, and if you see one, it doesn't mean there are more of them, especially in the summer when they walk around outside and wander into houses.

The gel stuff kills them out. Exterminator will just use the same thing and speay with bug spray

Yes yes exactly. Those are the areas u want to spray again. The spray only lasts technically 3-6 months. When the cockroaches are crawling on the ground they will die bc u sprayed, so they won’t even be able to get to your cabinet. Be sure to spray by the front and back doors and baseboards. I sprayed only baseboards not in kitchen because I was scared.
I also had many types of bugs in our basement, including many cockroaches. And this did the trick
