It is only Wednesday, I did not have to buy it today. Now that I am thinking about it, I should have rather spent the money on a fruit platter, baby outfit, toys, or something more practical. Oh well!

Been there, done that!!! LOL
There's nothing like experience!
Make a conscious decision right now, that it was done and there's nothing to get upset about anymore because it can't be switched! Forget about it!!!

This! I had a similar experience--we went to visit a relative and I bought a platter that turned out to be pricier than expected and I could have gotten away with less but later on the host told me at length how much they enjoyed and appreciated this contribution and how it really added, and I realized I was meant to bring it.

How much do you call so expensive?

One time I bought my own nosh to make a platter because I thought it would be cheaper than buying a ready made platter but I ended up spending much more money making my own from scratch.
