My 4.5 yr old is anxious and scared from the noises of the machines. He had a procedure done on one side but we go back next week to do the other. We did laughing gas it didn't work this time. It worked the previous time. Yes, I spoke to him what's going to happen next time and plan to continue speaking to him about it. Anything else I can do to help?

We're using a pediatric dentist and theres a doctor who is amazing with kids there but I'm thinking of trying someone else after this visit.
But if anyone knows a pediatric dentist in BP who takes medicaid and have laughing gas on site that would be awesome. With the current dentist I have to pay 75.

I have a son the same exact age and he’s a nightmare by check ups. Went this week and it was so stressful I was sweating. I had him on my lap with his hands crossed, his legs pinned down by my legs. You’d think he was being attacked. Turns out he has 2 cavities. My dentist is over an hr away and I travel bec I have 2 kids like this. He does conscious sedation. It’s a liquid in a syringe they drink it and become woozy and have no memories after .. I’m in NJ

Very interesting! I dunno if my dentist offers that. They wanted me to go to the hospital to put him to sleep

100%
I had kids who ran, screamed, hit and ultimately needed to be pinned down (can't even believe I allowed it - thought we had no choice) just for an examination and cleaning. Nitrous did nothing.

Went to new awesome dentist who knew how to deal with them. Never needed nitrous or any intervention again. They loved him and cooperated with him. Life changing for us all.

So I am not sure if my dentist is really offering this...at the appointment they had to have another doctor hold him down and they had me hold down his legs to keep him from kicking. Is there a dentist that specializes in this in BP? I might change. I have anthem bcbs medicaid for my child
