Meyer Lemon Ice Cream with Candied Jalapenos

For candied jalapenos

2 jalapeno peppers, stemmed, seeded, and diced
1 cup sugar
1 cup water

To make the candied jalapenos

Combine the sugar with 1 cup of water and bring to a boil. Lower heat to medium-low, and when sugar is dissolved, add the jalapenos and simmer for 10 minutes. Drain well. (Discard liquid, unless maybe you want some spicy simple syrup for other uses–cocktails?)
Spread out the jalapeno pieces on a sheet of wax paper, Leave them out until dry (it took the author of the recipe overnight to dry)

Note that this is very different than the currently trendy candied and pickled jalapeños

Stale licorice. I keep the pkg open on purpose. So chewy! Yum! I tried putting them in the freezer but stale is way better!

I really like going to work. I’m so glad I live in an era where it’s totally acceptable for women to work because I’d be so depressed if I had to cook, clean, and take care of kids all day. Does that make me a bad mother?

Same! My husband often gets a salad because he is Celiac. I'm the one with the burger, or the rare steak, or the massive stack of pancakes. But everyone assumes the lady is on a diet!
