some rabbanim allow after a certain time for very young children

Check with your Rav, but I remember reading that little children who go to bed early and have their Shabbos meal before candle lighting can eat fleishics Friday afternoon.
For adults, how about a vegetable soup and kugel? Skip the schnitzel. You can make a big pot of soup to freeze, and then it's ready to defrost and serve after the fast.

My LOR says that for young children who don't stay up for the meal (or go to bed part way through) if Friday afternoon is their "shabbos meal" they may have fleishigs.
