I'm having a baby boy in a few months iyH and already starting to worry about no one coming to the bris. My parents and a sibling who lives in town will come, and probably one of DHs but that's it. I don't have tons of relatives local to me or friends who are of the closeness that they'll come to a bris. I know I shouldn't care but I do.

I made multiple bris. Each time I had fewer and fewer friends. Like maybe 3 showed up to begin with. It was mostly family and dh friends. Anyways right after the bris I had to go nurse baby and I've never yet had a chance to sit and eat let alone sit and schmooze with anyone.

We made a bris and it was pretty much just our parents and some siblings
We both come from small families
It is what it is. It was a beautiful simcha

At my last bris, I was at my mother's house which is where most of my relatives live so they came to the bris. You're right that you don't really have time to sit and eat/schmooze but I'm just picturing empty tables, a basket of bagels, and me (ok and also my mother and sister in law)

Most people I know don't make the bris seuda for women. Yes, there's a few female family members, but it's mostly for men. If you have it in your head that it's not for women, then you won't be disappointed if they don't come.

I usually have like 1 friend at each bris, don't worry about it. You're not feeling super social and entertaining anyway

Didn't have friends at the bris.
Had table for family in the women's and in the men's was a family table and DH Kollel table.
It was nice and small.
Baby didn't want to nurse so I was by the table the whole time.

Yeah in my circles a vachnacht is optionally for women and a bris is only for men. Who needs to host again when you’re pp and worrying about your baby? If the bris is in a shul then there will be men for the meal. That’s all you need.
