So DD who graduated high school was talking with a friend about what to bring to Israel for seminary. Her friend said that she is bringing loafers and dress sneakers for weekday and black and white running shoes for trips.
DD asked what are dress sneakers, and the friend replied "you know, the dress ones." My DD hung up kind of confused, what in the world are dressy sneakers??!!
I don't know any more than her. Maybe you know?

Never heard of the term dress sneakers lol but assuming not the running type.
I have a nicer pair of white sneakers that I wear literally through the summer with all my dresses and tees and cute floral or printed skirts. Maybe that’s what she meant?

From the context it sounds like she meant fashion sneakers as opposed to actual athletic sneakers but there was recently a thread on here about shabbos sneakers as a fashion trend and I actually saw it in real life for the first time this past ahabbos so maybe that?

I have a family member that years ago you couldn't find her wearing sneakers. All of sudden sneakers are in style so shes wearing it.

Probably plain white or cream colored athleisure sneakers that can be worn with a skirt/dress and still be comfortable and shock-absorbent when walking around outside.

thanks all. another friend mentioned that he wants a low black lace up sneaker with brown/gum sole (I guess adidas samba style) but we can;t find anything, everything is sold out. any links would be appreciated
