I heard there is a volcano errupting there during august and many people had to cancel their trips. The area will be evacuated. Just look into that.

My go-to for any trip planning is reading up on the Dans Deal Forum Master Thread. They have one for Iceland and it has a lot of helpful info. I began doing research into Iceland, because we were thinking of going this summer. (Didn't work but, but iyh next year.) The Chabad Iceland website also has a lot of helpful information. Good luck!

It is a stunning country and one view, one waterfall is prettier than the next. The volcano will not interrupt your visit. Be prepared for cool and rainy weather - think 50-60 degrees and pack accordingly.
