I'm a really bad faster and I'm really worried about Tisha B'av. My 10 year old DD has been refusing to take her meds and she is extremely wild, out of control, and constantly needs major simulation or she drives everyone else crazy. She's too old for all the Tisha B'av daycamps.
Any ideas to keep her busy? She isn't responsible enough to take care of younger kids at this point. She doesn't read or do anything calm or tedious.
Would really appreciate ideas. Thank you!

Why give her a choice? Here is your medicine you are taking it end of story.

Crafts, sensory activities, get together with neighbors, jump rope, ball..

My 8 yr old son is also.loud, hyper, loves to talk, has adhd but is unmedicated.

However he loves to read, and can literally read for hours ! Bh for that.
Does she like to read?
Can you take your child to the library the day before, to get new books., thats what Im doing for all my kids..

Hire a non Jewish young babysitter or a young teenage girl to take her out.

Can you hide her meds in food?
I know it’s not a solution, but at least for Tisha be’ Av

Screen time- I know not the perfect solution , but…

Is there a craft that she will do?

Try to make a strict schedule with her so she knows exactly what is expected of her and at what time.

What are her strengths and what does she like to do? Most of my kids have ADHD and I need to figure out what will keep each one busiest based on personality and likes. One can read, one likes to bake, one can color or build Lego for hours, one needs friends at all times, one is super bossy and would be thrilled if I let her organize activities for the little kids. Plan for outside time, physical activity, snacks (preferably things that she can prep herself that will take some time). Sit down with her beforehand and schedule the day so she knows what to expect when.

1. She doesn't read. Reading is calming, since she doesn't read, some of the behavior may be due to undetected which is normal when seeing an opthamologist eye muscle problem. Please see a developmental optomotrist that specializes in vision therapy because many adhd children have vision problems. In NY best is suny college Manhattan vision center or ODA, give them the low down on the actions of the child so ASAP she can love reading a novel!

2. Magnesium which is available in a sticker form by Patch Aid for example worn once a day and removed after 6 hours releases it slowly into blood stream, it complements the meds reducing the anxiety after taking the med, taken at bed time helps with sleep, fear anxiety, it takes 3 months for total affect, it reduces hyper, aggressive, non focused behavior

EYES will affect the formation in the brain of the nerves so pls do number one!!!!!!!! Physical activity adequate daily is crucial, you may qualify for respite services to give you a break with a worker...child may need services also during the summer........ot, whatever....
