It was a huge headache to grow in, and then when it did grow in, it was beautiful, just a bit darker. I found myself being upset and angry that I have to cover my hair every morning. At some point, I realized that it's not worth the emotional turmoil, and I shaved again. Now I never dream about not having to cover anymore, and it's just much easier overall.
Also, when my hair was longer, even though it all fit into a ponytail, hairs sometimes sneaked out. Now I never have to worry about flyaways.
