My ds age 6 gets bored after 5 min. It's so tiring. I try to do extra fun activites like a fun and different park and after a few min he wants to go home (and kvetch) we buy special activites again lasts only a few min. The only thing that keeps him busy for an hour is the tablet. Any ideas? We bought him a water slide, water balloons, play dough, sand table, and nothing keeps his interest. Any ideas how to deal with this?
Just to add I play WITH him.

I feel you here! My almost 7 year old daughter is the same. Lots of sympathy here!
What I find occasionally works is changing the location of the play - example if we normally play lego on the floor we move to the dining room table. If I get 10 min out of it instead of 5 I'll take it.

Maybe bring over a friend for him to play with.

A two prong approach: any time I hear a complaint, I will find you a chore to do. You will have to complete it, no choice. Otoh, if you occupy yourself for 15 minutes without any complaints of boredom, you get a treat. Extend the time frame as he gets better at it. Then follow through. A six year old can sweep, fold simple laundry, wash counters, wash windows, mop, take laundry out of a dryer, put away groceries with you, clean up toys…
He’ll learn to be occupied or you’ll have a clean house
