I do. Its my only social media and a quick way to tell anyone I need to tell without having to text people directly.

I do a very simple ‘It’a a ____’ with that colored background. Best/most simple way to tell

I don’t do anything on my status. I can’t remember the last time I posted something. It’s just not a thing for me. I post on FB, and text whoever I remember to text. My mom takes care of family, beyond my siblings.

How do you decide who makes the cut?
I have so many contacts. Some are random old friends but also have old bosses, stores, etc.

I didn’t do it myself, but friends of ours announced it in our community WhatsApp group.

No. I want whoever means something to me to get an individual message. Way more personal.

My husband and I never post on our statuses so we didn’t when we had our baby but next time we do plan to. It’s an easy way to notify people. People would meet us months later and we’d mention our baby and they’d be like huh how did I miss that on your status. Everyone does it in our circles.

Yes, but only close family & close friends can see my status. Most people filter their status.

I do. It's the quickest way to notify a lot of people.
My status is always filtered. I have 2 settings, 1- only share with xyz and 2-share with everyone except xyz.
The first is for family and friends the second is for the rest of my contacts except random numbers I have saved like a painter I once hired or a cleaning lady from a while ago or a medical professional I used in the past.
I use the second option only for general inquiries like looking for ride, giving stuff away etc...

I'm pregnant b"h for the first time, and I'm undecided what to do. For my engagement, I didn't and I actually got some "backlash" so I posted my wedding invitation and got a couple of responses...
But for those that do post an announcement, do people respond?

Yes many respond. Usually a simple Mazel tov or just an emoji reaction.
