Married for a very long time.
I DO fold laundry but it’s not neat.
I don’t fold linen well and even though I know how to fold shirts they are far from perfect.
When I ask my 1x a week cleaning help to fold for me she does a perfect job- the way clothing is when it’s brand new.
Why can’t I do it like that???
I don’t mind folding laundry but it bothers me that I don’t do a neat job.
I’m so embarrassed that I lack this skill.
I even watched some YouTube videos but I just can’t do a good job.
Is there a trick I could learn?

There's no trick. It's a knack. Just as some people can't draw a straight line with a ruler or cut baked goods straight, some people can't fold laundry straight. Enough practice probably makes perfect or at least improvement, but why bother? You're not setting up a store display, and the state of your closets and drawers is nobody's business but yours. And you have an employee who does a perfect job, so if the "look" is important to you, let her do the folding and you do something else better matched to your skills.
Just for fun, you could try using a sheet of cardboard as a template, though. Lay the cardboard on the item to be folded, fold the sides up and over the cardboard, then slide the cardboard out. Your folded items will thus all be the same width.

it might be about allowing for a little extra time for the folding
if you want even folds and crisper lines, it’s going to take longer to fold the laundry, at least until you have a lot of practice.

When I was a teenager, I used to go to into Benetton and watch the workers fold t-shirts. I do fold pretty neatly and quickly but it takes a lot of practice.

OP, I am so with you on this. I cannot fold anything neatly, not even a towel. And I'm not ashamed to post under my screen name. When one of my daughters visited me, she folded a lot of my clothes and linens for me. I am constantly amazed at her skill, which she sure didn't get from me. I asked her to show me how she does it, but no matter how much I watch someone do that (and 2-D YouTube videos don't help me at all), I just can't. I wish I could, but I can't. I'm going to try that cardboard trick that zaq mentioned, and see if that works. But oh well, Hashem gives me other talents, anyway.
