so is Imamother officially off the grid?

asking for a friend

though I'm not minimizing how awesome it is that you're upholding your standards

Wow, I am on Linkedin although now I am wondering if am on it at all, have never seen anything like that image and would never ever post anything like that. So unproffesional.
My linked in account is just my proffesional credentials and not much else.

It's a good place to park your information. And a lot of people are using it right, their posts and comments are professional. But yeah there's a lot that's been giving me pause.

To be dklz many people have ghostwriters on LinkedIn so it doesn't have to be the person themselves commenting.

Its hard to train the culture to a non Jewish or even a more modern ghostwriter.

If a dm is too 'warm' for my comfort level I'll make sure to professionally bring it back to, eh, professional level.

The ghostwriters do the comments too?
Someone thinks it's appropriate. Either the ghostwriters or the clients. Either way it's a problem.

So if your rabbanim have spoken out against ALL social media, why are you on imamother? This is social media as well. It may look a bit different than linked in or facebook, but it is 10000000% social media.

I’m on LinkedIn myself. My industry kind of requires it for networking.

BUT

I know LinkedIn works by connections. How is it ok that so many frum men and women are connecting/commenting on each others posts etc etc etc “for the sake of business and networking”?

I see so many times, flirtatious compliments - directed toward a persons work. it nags me to see it. Maybe I’m reading into it too much?

Yes. Please worry about your own self.

I'm a mother is very different. If you're anonymous then no one can pm you. Plus there shouldn't be men posting anything on here anyway. Lurking you can't stop them I guess.

Complimenting a business is flirting ? On a public platform? Seriously!! You all don't know context just lay off. And yes the identifying details were not covered enough. I hope the spouses are not on imamother

Am I the only one who's not seeing the flirting?

Those messages come across to me as friendly. Very lightly teasing. But flirting? Either of those is easily something a woman could say to a (straight) woman, or a man to a man.

If "wow, (name), that food you made looks amazing" is a flirty, inappropriate comment, what does appropriate even look like? "Wow, Mrs. Cohen, that looks like hot garbage"?

I don't really see it as flirting but definitely too personal with the opposite gender is wrong.

I don't call imamother social media. We're here to get advice from each other, to vent etc. And it's only women. Quite different, especially when no one knows who you are IRL.

We literally just had a thread about this again... But this website is social media. It's just very OG 2004 social media that hasn't been updated like other social media platforms.

Also, note as a mod, I edited the pictures to better cover up identifying information.
