Should I have the kitchen place design it? Or use a separate space planner/designer?
I want my kitchen to be super practical- not high end or fancy.
Can anyone chime in on their experience and if they have someone they used that they recommend?
Thank you!

I used Arozelli. He is great with layout and design, making it work practically and telling you honestly when he thinks something won’t work. Using a space planner on top of that would be redundant.

I used the kitchen place and it was just fine. No need to spend extra money.

Some independent kitchen designers also sell cabinets. I do, but not in New Jersey.

Then without a doubt have a space planner or kitchen organizer plan the layout. Not a cabinet store. Sometimes the skills overlap but usually not the case.

I had my kitchen designed by Dream Cabinets (I think they're DC Cabinets now?). I got someone who has 20 years experience. She was extremely knowledgeable and practical and also knew what's in style.

I used a kitchen designer and then brought it to a kitchen store to purchase. I got a discount since I came already with plans so I actually saved more money than what I spent on the designer. Based on the cabinets I choose I had to make some minor adjustments but I still got my discount.

I used the kitchen place (express) and used their custom line. It’s beautiful.

I'm curious if you get a quote from a design/ kitchen place then don't end up using them, is there a fee they charge for their time etc?

We ordered from high line kitchens, recommended to us by Zissy Hoffman. He designed, ordered and installed.
He gave us a ton of time and we’ve gotten a ton of compliments on our beautiful and also functional kitchen
He had the best price also
Highly recommend

The very initial basic design was free. In order to flesh it out, make adjustments, change things, we had to pay a set price.
