I recently heard about ahava medical in "williamsburg" that its a place worth going to.... they have huge selection, glasses are covered by most insurances (fidelis covers every 6 months!) and you walk out with the pair ready to wear (ubless you upgrade something). to top it all off, you can ask them for transportation both ways...
try it out..
my sister was there last week and was thrilled beyond

I’m a little jealous, people on Medicaid live the life!

They take the medicaid HMOs. They have a separate drawer of glasses just for this. They're not expensive frames but you pick something out.

You can still join the club lol.
I wouldn't recommend it though. I know it's frustrating at times to see all the benefits, but believe me, you wouldn't want my financial (or general) life....it's pretty sucky.
BTW, I'm almost sure that commercial insurances cover glasses too, maybe with a copay, but it's worth giving them a call!

hey did you end up going to ahave medical? I was there this week and had a seamless experience.
you just need to give it a good few hours of your day between traveling out there and back and waiting for the glasses. service was exceptional.
