I also wonder what the quality is. |
I sound like a broken record on this website but Longines has dainty watches.

Then I’d say longines

I saw that. You're probably right. The quality is equal to the others?

My question is of name/price tag always equals quality? I'm scared of paying 2k and having it break on me every few months.

Get it at a reputable place. Name brands usually stand behind their product.
I have a stainless steel ebel for years. I had to replace the movement once for $200 or so but it’s a great watch.

Not necessarily. Sometimes just the opposite because more expensive watches have more sensitive movements. I once saw an ad for Rolex that it’s waterproof. Guess what I’ve been swimming with my $100 skagan for years.
I posted upthread that I bought a concord that had a problem with the movement right away. Most expensive watches have good warranty so if it’s a lemon it will get fixed and then hopefully have a long life.

FYI Ebel and concord were bought out by the movado group and the quality very possibly changed.

I have longines for Shabbos which I think is just what you're looking for, I've just had to replace the battery after 4 years.
I also have a Swarovski for weekday which I also love but it's not as luxurious. That also just had a battery replacement after 4 years so it seems the average time for batteries to die.

Thank you so much. That's where I was headed to after reading all responses. Swarovski for weekday and longines for shabbos. I see my thinking makes sense.

I love this watch I have this company it is very nice quality. I would think better quality than Swarovski. It’s an older style so marked down so definitely worth the price.

I have this Swarovski watch in a different colour because I bought it a few years ago.

And something like this from Longines which I realise now is far more expensive than I thought, I'm sure I cost much less just a few years ago

My kallah watch is just very sleek and simple gold and diamonds. It’s not a brand but I’ve had it for 10 years with no issue. It was in your price range. I got it at a jewelry store in Lakewood (not a watch store) don’t remember which one anymore

Price tag does not always equal quality. But Swiss made watches are good in general. Longines has a good name. My watch is a tag- I have one that I’ve had for over 11 years and another that’s just over a year old. Not a single issue other than changing the battery bH. (But tag watches are not so jewelry-like so not your style I assume.)

Jomashop is legit. I would recommmend looking for a similar style in Longines vs this brand- Ferragamo. Longines is known for their watches, ferragamo is a fashion brand. longings makes a similar watch.

This is gorgeous. Somebody just posted she has a simple gold watch with diamonds. It's also an option I might consider and getting a $200 watch for everyday. I asked her what company it is. Waiting to hear. Sorry for all this back and forth. This is a very major purchase for me. Won't do it again for the next 15-20 years probably. I need to make a very educated thought out decision
