How to pack clothes in a lift?

Can they go directly in a cardboard box or should they be more protected? What's the best way to do it?

IIRC, I packed them in regular cardboard boxes, like any other move.
I definitely washed everything that came off the lift, when it arrived.

Some people vacuum seal them in bags, so they take up less space. We didn't bother. The nice part about getting a lift is that the movers pack for you. Such a bracha, one less thing to do!

I guess that's my concern. Why did everything need to be washed? What can I do to protect it so that it arrives in good condition?

We need to pack it ourselves.

I did vaccuum bags and then packed more stuff around them in the empty spaces.

It's going to be in a non temperature controlled environment for weeks or months. I guess you could vacuum seal all the clothes?
