Hi! This will be my first time hosting bachorim for a Shabbos meal. Technically I hosted last minute a few months ago for a few younger bachorim but that did not feel like it counted. Any tips on what to make for the menu? Also just like how to act? It will just be my husband and I with our newborn. Any advice in general with hosting as a beginner? Thanks!

I find they generally love most foods, just make sure you have plenty of it. Some items I make that are always a hit are: Sourdough with variety of dips, Gefilte fish baked with salsa, sweet and sour salmon, all kinds of schnitzel/chicken fingers, roasts/all kinds of beef (I sometimes make a corned beef roast with honey mustard sauce on the side that goes quickly), potato kugel salt and pepper Kugel, green salad, roasted veggies, (cole slaw, pickles)… dessert.

Meat
Chicken
Side main (a side that has protein like deli roll etc.)
Sweet
Vegetable/salad
Carb/ starch (potato kugel)

Plenty of food and just be normal. At least for my OOT yeshiva this is what I do. Ask for help clearing if you need it. We have bouchrim at least a couple times a month for years.
In terms of food the favs by me have been:
Deli roll, salad, dips and challah, potato kugel, poppers, and shnitzel.
