Anyone know how it can be open on Sundays?
They sell clothes there, every other clothing store in the mall is closed due to Blue Laws

They're not officially a clothing store. They have a large book & housewares section as well.

She’s probably just asking out of curiosity. I’m happy they are open Sunday and was curious about it too because most of the other stores in the mall are closed.

I believe there are a few workarounds...they are closed Saturday and also possibly because they have Artscroll there etc..

Its just something I'm wondering about, all the other stores are closed, why is this one open.
Do you have an "in" with the owner and not want to say something?

Back in the day,Sunday was for church and family, noone went shopping for the sake of shopping.
Something like that...
They tried not too long ago to repeal the law but it didn't pass.

They are closed Saturdays instead. There have been multiple threads with this question, always someone trying hard to “catch them out”
This is being done legally

Interestingly enough, when we were there on Sunday for entertainment, we found that almost all clothing stores were open. There were only a few stores that were closed- I remember Lululemon specifically and Uggs among the very few shuttered stores.

Last year it wasn't like this. All were closed besides for the Address.

There are legal work arounds and others do it too. It’s the most ridiculous law to exist and should be abolished anyway.

I'm not trying to "catch" anyone. ( though the poster asking why I'm asking sounded defensive)
I'm genuinely curious, and there are alot of clothing stores in teaneck that are closed on Saturdays.

So interesting to hear that more and more clothing stores are open nowadays, I guess I need to go check them out Smile
Also, the "open Saturday " thing doesn't really work, the law was "Sunday is no shopping day" not that "I'll go to church Saturday and shop on Sunday"
But nice to know more stores are getting around that.

Agreed. I heard once somewhere that the local voters on the whole vote it down because it decreases traffic. Dunno.

I can’t imagine how it’s done legally. You think Targets in blue law areas just choose to stay closed and lose out on a full day of sales? Nope

And I will not believe for one second that all they sell on Sundays are books. They are 100% selling clothing on Sundays too. Which is illegal no matter what

There have been a few threads on this already though

There definitely are legal workarounds. Not all stores are interested in being open on Sundays. Many (non jewish) clothing stores at American dream are open on Sundays.
