I drive with no shoes🤷♀️
I did hear that it's unsafe to drive in slippers or heels

My Honda odyssey (2021) gives a reminder to check the rear seats when the car is turned off. Such a great idea to do that

Cybex car seats come with something called sensor safe ( I think that’s what it’s called), which alerts you if a child is left in the car. I happen to have a cybex infant car seat to give away if anyone would like it.

I got into the habit of leaving my door open until I've scanned all the seats for children
I've seen people set up a retractable cord from the car seat to the car keys
I leave my purse under the baby's seat
And every time we finish another summer without this problem, I breathe a thank you to Hashem that we didn't suffer this way.
Everything is about reminders reminders reminders, because these horrible tragedies happen when routine changes while you're still operating on autopilot.

Really?? I have a 2021 Odyssey and it doesn’t do that. Do I have to set it up?

It's amazing - easy to install, no wifi needed. Basically it beeps when you unbuckle your seat belt till you take the baby out (you put a sensor in the car seat). I like it better then a voice one (although I'm sure that's good to) bec I'm nervous I'll just get used to it.... with this one it's just activated when you have a baby in the car seat. |
How accurate is the sensor at knowing whether or not someone is in the car seat?

I don’t know. I just got this car last week and every time I turn it off it says “check rear seats”.

does anyone know of a company that installs these things? I would love to get the type that has a button installed in the back seat that you need to press. Im nervous I would get used to an audio message over time

Why not? Take off your left shoe, which is not your driving shoe. I leave my pocketbook and/or my keys in the back with my baby. I actually usually give him my keys to play with.
You can also set a child reminder in Waze, and many cars have some kind of sensor. Mine has a picture on the dash, but it doesn’t make any sound.

I always said I’d do the same if I had a car.
As a kid my bus driver would barefoot and it would make me worried. (Both feet bare)

Does it work for a baby in a doona or only a car seat that you take the baby out of?
