What style works for a woman who isn't skinny?
I was thin at all my other siblings' weddings, but now I have no waist and a slight pooch.
And the color is ivory/ cream which is anything but forgiving.
Would love some ideas!

I found a stiffer fabric helped as the stretchy type actually accentuated rather than hid my excess weight. Something that comes in at the waist and flares out. Also a design but not too busy.
Does it have to be pure ivory/cream, or could you do a floral design which could work better?
Your best bet is to visit a local store and try on dresses and get a feel for what would suit you best. And if you're tall, you can also get away with more than I can as I'm short.

You can also do an empire waist, that might help.

I found empire waist makes you look pregnant, which is fine when you are pregnant, but not so great when you aren't.

I have the same issue. I bought a dress with pleated fabric on the bust and on the skirt. The waist is banded. So far, it looks decent on me and the pleats seem to cover a host of flaws. Was hoping to lose a little, but my basic body type won't change. Dress is by MacDuggal. Planning to have alterations to fill in a deep V front. Also planning to walk with my head up and a big smile (I hear that takes off 10 pounds. Lol)

Thank you!
Cream with flowers is fine, I just need to find...
I'm definitely trying to avoid looking pregnant.

Would love some links if anyone has

Consider a straight sheath look. It’s elegant and sophisticated

Just for inspiration.

I like the overlay. It hides your stomach.

This style can also hide you well because it doesn't have a straightforward waist. There's detail at the waist which can cover a small stomach.
