I work from home 20 hours a week, flexible. During the summer, I have an extremely difficult time filling these hours. It's a relatively slow season for us, so as long as a decent amount of work is getting done, my boss *probably* won't complain, but it's not a good look for me, plus I'm paid hourly and we're struggling with the daycamp expenses.
With the kids' summer schedules, plus all the other craziness of my life, it just isn't working.
So, it's almost 10:30 p.m. Shabbos is under control I have two choices right now:
1) Work, to get me closer to filling my time for the week and make $$.
2) Put away laundry, from the many piles flying around currently, so my kids won't have a dysfunctional morning of searching for socks through two haystacks.
What would you do??
(My body is telling me to just call it a night...)

I say work for an hour.
Then set a timer for 10min and put whatever you can away in that time, then bed.

I recently read this line by Sara Yaroslawitz:
"Searching through piles of laundry is not a healthy way for children to begin their day."
Such guilt...we try

Really? Kids need love, attention and care. Their emotional health is infinitely more important than laundry,

Can you get everything in house under control and work late tomorrow? Fridays my kids are usually outside all afternoon and I can work until 2 in the summers.

I'd pull out an outfit for each (or whatever clothing item they'd be searching for) and go to bed.
