I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant and I'm looking to find a job to keep me busy (we bh don’t need my income for the moment)
I'm also pregnant, extremely nauseous and on a lot of medication to help manage the nausea and sickness which causes me to be very tired.

I'm not sure if it's sensible to apply for a job which will start at the begining of the school year in September when I'll need to leave in December (due date end of feb)

Any advice? Also do I need to let the job know I'm pregnant when applying?
Is it silly to commit to a job when I might not even be able to work

Yes, definitely would be silly imo. Working while nauseous is miserable, especially if it’s an in person job. Sounds like you’re thinking of teaching? I never understood how teachers did their jobs during the first trimester unless they’re blessed and don’t really have nausea.

Find something else to keep you busy is my advice.

Maybe you can be a preschool assistant or an office assistant in a school. These jobs are often desperate and wouldn’t mind taking you on temporarily. you can sign up as a sub and this way you’re not as committed; if you have appointments or something you just won’t work that day

Why do you have to leave six weeks early? Why don’t you leave a week or two early?

Maybe it makes sense to look for more freelancing types of jobs, like subbing? Then you can work when you feel good. Are you especially talented in an area, like hairstyling, making albums, tutoring, organizing?

Because I want to 😂
Actually it's more because I don’t function towards the end of my pregnancy and I need to be at home. As I mentioned before I don’t NEED to work so bh I have the flexibility to be able to take the last 6 weeks to nest. Mainly after winter break I just want to be done

I have a lot of thoughts on this. Which country are you located in? Most people in the US work until they are due and take 6-8 weeks of maternity leave, which schools are often happy to find coverage for. You don’t have to say you are pregnant (legally), and it is very early, so up to you.

I wouldn’t recommend taking a teaching position if you won’t be able to be consistent due to extreme nausea and are thinking of taking extended early leave.

You might want to consider a part time teaching assistant role or volunteer since you mentioned that you don’t need the money and haven’t been feeling great.

Hope you get some relief soon!

In this case I would tell them that I can only work through December.

I would suggest finding something easy and mindless that you can do remotely, lile data entry.

Whats the point if youre only working a month or two? Become a sub and go when they need you.
Most of us work until were due or go into labor at work then head home or the hospital. If you dont need to work why do it if youre so sick
