Yes, gitty zelczers practice does vision therapy. She's an occupational therapist who specializes in vision therapy. She works closely with Dr press. Dr press does not do vision therapy itself. He's a developmental optometrist and checks the eyes for actual vision issues but is specially trained to pick up on more complicated or specific vision issues that a regular eye doctor wouldn't pick up on such as lazy eye, convergence (that both eyes aren't working together and one kind of wanders..) as well as other issues. He can tell you if vision therapy is neccesary. He doesn't take insurance and I belive is about 400 or 500 for the initial appointment. Many times just getting special glasses won't completely solve the problem- and vision therapy- specific vision exercises need to be completed over the course of a few months to a yr to fully strengthen specific eye musleces and vision skills.

If your unsure about going to Dr press I'd say try to get an evaluation by gitty zleczer and she will tell you if she thinks a visit to Dr press is warranted. Also she'll test all that ot covers so it may be helpful especially if child needs help in any other areas such as sensory sensitivities aversion or seeking touching things afraid of heights or movement, poor balance coordiantion strength handwriting etc.
