It says for toddler, but can I give it to an 8 month old? (Supplement, not full nutrition).

I remember using the CY baby’s only with another child and was told by a nutritionist that even though it says toddlers, it’s ok for infants, but they have to market it for toddlers as breast milk has to be promoted for infants.
Is this true for the pea protein version as well?

This is your question for a pediatrician. If you’re in the US, breast milk promotion has nothing to do with whether a formula product can be marketed for babies (look at all the formula on the market). Infant formula is very tightly regulated in the US, and needs to meet specific rules about vitamins and minerals as well as production locations and methods. More importantly in this case (I suspect), the US requires any formula using a new base to undergo a clinical trial, and pea protein base hasn’t done that. Toddler formula doesn’t have any of these requirements, and can be produced just like any other food product. So, it would be important to understand the ratios of fat/protein/carbohydrates and calories per ounce as well as vitamin and mineral content. This is where your pediatrician comes in because they know your baby’s specific health status, growth curve, and you can have a conversation with them about how much of it you would be feeding and for how long.
