What do you use to light your shabbos candles? I am interested in buying a silver plated one. Do you have one? Do you use electric lighters?

Give me the scoop.

Did you have a silver container to hold them or just something practical?

It's what you're probably thinking of buying. A silverplated holder for a long thin wax candle.
I use that and sometimes matches.

If thats the case, I had no idea what that actually was this whole time. I thought it was just a silver plated large barbecue lighter. LOL That actually made me laugh out loud. The more you know!

It's like a long thin wand where you insert a thin candle. Very elegant and practical IMHO (sterling silver items are one of my weaknesses)
There are wands which lights like a cigarette lighter.

We have one but I don't get the point. You have to light an extra thing on fire.

If you have many candles to light it's practical. Also for chanukka lightning.

So mine is real silver, not plated, but yes, it’s just a long candle holder for ultra-thin tzinder candles

No. Just buy a BBQ lighter πŸ˜‚ that's way more practical. I hate lighting matches, so this gifted long candle isn't helpful since I still need to light matches

I have no need for a BBQ lighter Smile
A cigarette lighter is even better than matches IMHO.
