My oldest son is going away for yeshiva for the first time.
In the short time left before he leaves, are there meaningful ways or ideas of how to spend the time/ or things you wish you had done together before your son went away?

We did a nice family dinner out (we rarely eat out, so big deal for us). My husband and I went for a walk with him in some park. Told him all the things (we're so proud of you, we expect to see great things, etc)
I set up a weekly call slot with him. Sure he calls outside that slot if he needs/wants. That's our long schmoozy call. He has a phone learning session with my husband once a week as well.

I have 2 boys away from home. I stick notes in their suitcase and sometimes chachkas. One time I forgot to buy stuff and all I could find in the house was a party blower. Stuck it in his suitcase...When he unpacked in yeshiva he said he found my interesting surprise.
