If you don't want to keep it. Sell it. Put the money in your bank and let it get all mixed up with your other money so you don't buy something and this "this used to be my engagement ring"

Do I need to sell it to individuals or are there places that buy it?

You can probably find a place. Where are you located?

I don't know anyone in Lakewood. But you can ask around if anyone knows someone who's sold their stuff... I do have a friend in North Jersey who can help sell stuff. If you're willing to travel a bit.

I kept and wore all of my jewlery after my divorce. I even turned my diamond from my engagment ring into a pendant.
Also still using my silver.

I think I heard that Kayla Designs does a buyback/exchange program. Call them. It can be a very good option because you should have nice jewelry.

My mom sold her silver candlesticks. She got no child support or alimony and needed the money.
She saved her diamond and gave it to my brother when he got engaged, she had it reset for her new DIL.
She didn't get any other real jewelry that was worth anything.
Pretty sure my Dad took all the silver bechers and his menorah.

Legally it may be considered wife's. Depends on exactly when it was given, why, how long marriage lasts. Etc.

If you want to get it all done at once, check out Reich’s on route 9. Same shopping center as amazing savings.
They do jewelry and silver and were very fair as far as rates go when you sell to a place that gives cash.

If you are looking for top dollar you would have to try and sell each item to individual buyers. That is work though
