DH and I have the opportunity to go away for one night this summer. We can leave at 8:30 am and need to be back by 3 the next day I think. We live in Brooklyn.
We are on a limited budget.
I prefer not having to bring food with us but DH doesn't care either way.
We don't want to do Manhattan, we both work there. We want something relaxing and away to spend quality time with each other.
DH will absolutely not do anything with a beach/boardwalk.
Any ideas?

What's to do there?
I edited my post to include the caveat that we don't go to beaches or boardwalks.

If you’re willing to drive a few hours, look into Getaways upstate. It’s amazing, went with my husband last year, other people I know went there and loved it as well. It’s basically a tiny cabin to stay in.

You can do the hotel in Stamford Connecticut that has kosher food (forgot the name) or maybe a nice hotel in monsey so you can go out to eat at night

You could stay at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel in Tarrytown (Westchester.) I believe that they have a kosher breakfast buffet. It’s 15 minutes over the bridge from Monsey for restaurants and other food. Phillipsburg Manor is about a 5-10 minute drive away from the hotel. You can visit the Dutch farm and trading post from the 1700s. Buy a ticket and catch the bus at Phillipsburg Manor to Kykuit, the Rockefeller estate, to visit their beautiful house and art gallery. www.historichudsonvalley.org for combination ticket purchases and your times. Do the walk over the Mario Cuomo bridge or walk partway for lookout over the River. Visit the Sleepy Hollow lighthouse. That should be a full day and a real getaway from Brooklyn.
